DC Comics seems to have really brought their A-Game to this years SDCC. I have not been one of those fans who has been dying to see new DC movie material, and I am still not there yet, but these trailers do have me pumped for their upcoming projects. The thing that I really want from the DC properties is more humor, and to move a little ways away from the doom and gloom of Man of Steel and BvS. By the looks of it that is exactly what is about to happen. Speaking of BvS, the first trailer that I saw came from the best part of that movie, Wonder Woman.

The Wonder Woman movie looks like it going to be fantastic from this trailer. It’s not only the trailer, each image that surfaces it more bad ass than the last. The colors and the action along with the humor have me the very, very interested to see this move. I could use a little power, grace, wisdom and wonder in my life. Wonder Woman is set to come out June 2, 2017, and it stars Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, and Chris Pine as Steve Trevor.

Justice League probably has the most riding on it, as well as the most to live up to because more than likely it will be compared directly to Marvel’s The Avengers. Coming of the reception of Batman v Superman this trailer needed to be good, and show a different side of the DCU to drawn in viewers. Well, it seems like they did it. I have been very opinionated when it comes to them deciding not to cast Grant Gustin as the Flash in the movies. I was not happy with the little glimpses we got of Flash in BvS. But in this trailer Ezra Miller may be my favorite part. Justice League is set to release November 17, 2017.

We also were shown the final trailer for Suicide Squad. This trailer had a little more of the same, with maybe a little more Joker. To me this movie has the potential to blow up big, think Guardians of the Galaxy big. It has Batman and Joker parts in it, along wit the first live action adaptation of Harley Quinn. But to me the guy I cant wait to see is Captain Boomerang, played by Jai Courtney, every shot I have seen of him makes me laugh, and I want to be able to laugh in this movie. Suicide Squad is set to release August, 5th 2016. It Stars Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Will Smith as Deadshot, Jared Leto as the Joker, and Ben Affleck making an appearance as Batman.

The next big animated movie coming from the DC animation studios is Justice League Dark. This is one that I have been waiting for, whether it came in live action, or animated form. Justice League Dark’s roster consists of John Constantine, Zatanna, Deadman, Swamp Thing and Etrigan the Demon. The rumors of this being a live action movie to be directed by Guillermo Del Toro are still swirling out there but until then I will be more than happy with this adaptation. The best part about this is that Matt Ryan, who plays the live action version of John Constantine in the DC TV universe, will voice Constantine in this film. It is set to release digitally and on Blu Ray later in 2016.

On to TV! My favorite DC TV show currently on is the CW. Grant Gustin in my opinion is the best Flash I have ever seen, some of the things that he says in the show feel like I just pulled them off of the page. Last season of the Flash was amazing and left us all with a major cliffhanger, well I’ll just let you watch…….FLASHPOINT! Season 3 will come out on Tuesday October 4th 2016.

Now onto my least favorite CW DC show Arrow. This show used to have me so excite to watch each week, but as the seasons have gone by I have lost a lot of love for this show. I still watch it, but its more like watching a crowded intersection with a broken traffic light, its only a matter of time until I see a massive car crash. The biggest thing that pushes me away from the show is the Felicity and Oliver romance story, and from the trailer it looks like that is what we are getting much more of. Arrow Season 6 is set to debut Wednesday October 5th 2016.

Lastly DC’s Legends of Tomorrow. This show has had some mixed reviews among fans, by I enjoy it. Its nice to have something a little different from the main DC timeline stuff, amd we also get to get a look at some of the “lesser” DCU characters. Legends of Tomorrow Season 2 is set to air Thursday October 13 2016.
